School Lunch Programme Overview

Our aim is to provide a simple, cheap, exciting and fundamentally healthy school lunch option for teachers and students of your school.

The programme in brief:

Refer our order form showing the Subs available and prices. Please note that, along with the Sub ordered, students receive a free cookie and apple if desired.
The school selects a delivery day that it perceives as most appropriate (eg.Friday)
Students are provided an order form to take home and complete with their parents.
The order form, with money, is returned the day before delivery date (eg. therefore Thursday) in a sealed envelope with the student’s name and room number written on it. Usually a cut off  time such as 9:00am or 9:15am is chosen.
A drop off location is chosen, such as the school office or canteen, where envelopes are collected. We will then collect the envelopes after the cut off time. Note: Staff are not required to sort or count envelopes or money, unless they desire to do so.

Subs will be made fresh on the morning of delivery and delivered just prior to the lunch break. Each sub, cookie and apple will be wrapped and bagged with a serviette.
Orders will be delivered as per the school desires. (eg. They can be sorted/boxed into room numbers or simply into surname alphabetical order).

We also realise that schools are always short of money and often canteens can provide a good source of income. We are not trying to compete with these, but also recognise that, at least initially, canteens can suffer decreased trade. Therefore we commit to providing the school an ongoing “commission” payment of $0.50c per order to ensure the school obtains some solid benefit from the programme. We run a weekly spreadsheet of the number of orders received and at the end of each term provide the school with a cheque for commission earned.

Our aim is to make it as simple and efficient for the school as possible. Therefore we do not expect staff to count money or sort orders. We will do this for you.

We are also happy to discuss any different options, alternatives or ideas your school may have.

The only issue that we have found that tends to affect the success of the programme is the availability of order forms for the children, and more importantly their parents. Parents tend not to chase or hunt out new ones. The schools where the programme succeeds the most are those that assist us by regularly sending out forms via teachers or with their school newsletter (eg. once a month) and/or have forms displayed in the canteen or office. Some also have the form on their web site. If required we are happy to provide the forms.

I hope this gives you an understanding of the process and simplicity of the Subway Parklands School Lunch Programme.
